Protecting Whistleblowers in Criminal Antitrust Cases

Senator Chuck Grassley has introduced legislation with Senator Patrick Leahy to extend whistleblower protection for employees who provide information to the Department of Justice about criminal antitrust violations. The initiative follows a successful effort ten years ago by the senators to extend whistleblower protections to private-sector whistleblowers in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Grassley is Ranking Member and Leahy is Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
