WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The United States "will always be a triple-A country," President Barack Obama said Monday, rebutting a downgrade of the U.S. credit rating late Friday from Standard & Poor's. The U.S. should make adjustments to Medicare and wealthier individuals should pay "their fair share" to help close the U.S. budget deficit, Obama suggested. He also urged Congress to extend a payroll tax cut and prolong extended unemployment benefits to help grow the economy.
