I remember a few years back when the "church pastor" gave a begathon to the sheeple in the audience to "tithe" to him...er, the "lord" to purchase some bells [several thousand dollars]. Well, the lumps in the pews did and a few months later we were treated to a show with the bells.
The hirling, er "pastor" could have just asked for a bunch to rehearse with beer, or maybe root beer, bottles and have the same effect...and prevent the fleecing of the folks too.
A "church' do that????
