We are back to these two choices: (1) she is dumber than dirt; (2) she thinks her followers are dumber than dirt. I really can't decide whether it's #2 or both #1 and #2.
I have never before argued publicly with anyone this intellectually ill-equipped. I have been at this for 45 years, and Ellen Brown is really, truly defenseless intellectually. Anyone who goes through my 52 original criticisms and my 30 responses to her responses will see why I make this judgment.

i'll say it again...is there anyone else outside of kucinich who wants to cut the military as much as ron paul...do you give him credit for that at least...i've seen interviews where he calls for cutting it by 50%...that's exactly how i feel, so it's another reason that i support him...just looking for dialogue here..not looking to start a battle...

I could go on, but my question to you is why has the performance bar been set so low for Ron Paul? I have no idea who he thinks his leader is (maybe you misphrased), but he is certainly not my leader. I think he's either a coward or a false prophet. The things he talks about (free markets, sound money, limited government) will bring Hell on Earth for millions if not administered correctly, and I see no evidence he is equipped with the kind of insight to restore liberty and justice for all. His only saving grace is that although he talks a lot, he has (thankfully) done very, very little.
He's on the Finance comitee now, so I guess we'll see what he's made of. But ask yourself this: Are you honest enough with yourself to call him out if he starts playing footsies with Geithner and Bernanke?
If you take a look at Russia during the period of the Czars in the 19th century say, for only one example taken from many, you will see a network of spies, torture chambers and gulags whose horror we can barely imagine. They were all designed by the feudal rulers to keep the starving masses of Russians in check.
Our rulers find it easy to imagine, however. Maybe that's why they find history so much fun to read and maybe that is why it is such a depressing burden for most of us to read.
But then again, there have been so many wars and revolutions during the last two hundred years that it is impossible for even the historically challenged NOT to have heard about them.
A lot of people are looking around nervously for a piece of high ground from which they can watch a possible war/revolution in safety. But that may be a will-o-the-wisp.
How pathetic is this society? I chose to insulate myself and my family years ago, moving to a wealthy suburb and surrounded by two-parent, college educated families. I was told repeatedly that it wasn't the "real world." And I never cared. I could never understand what made some other world more or less real than mine. Until now. I really believe that virtually everything he said is sadly true.
And all the rest of this is window dressing. For if it's fact that those masses have no idea of who is stealing what from them, then we are literally doomed to the fate we're shown. Maybe I should buy gold after all.

Actually I agree with you about acting. (Disagree re WSP2, though, love that guy.)
Recently I started helping a friend for alderman in Chicago. He got sick of watching the pols act on behalf of corporations and to the detriment of ordinary people. He told me he wasn't taking any $ from commercial developers. I jumped on board not realizing it would be a 16-hour-per-day job. He's about a 200-1 long shot. It's been a blast, though, and if he makes the ballot (no easy feat in Chi-Town), he's actually got a chance.
Here's the deal. I'm an American who loves the land and the people around me. I also happen to be brown.
In the week after 9/11 I was physically assaulted on three separate occasions by men not any different from mr. angry guy. Did they bother to find out that I'm not Arab, not muslim, and actually have family serving in the military? No, they did not.
As the economy collapses, all the anger that SHOULD be directed at the banking class WILL actually be directed at me and people who look like me who have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with it. Do you really think that a nation of overfed drugged-up losers is going to actually THINK before they act? I for one don't need a joint, a tab, or a line of anything to understand that.
If I meet mr. angry guy and he wants to come after me with his electric saw because he thinks I'm an "abdul" or someone who actually gives a fuck about the people of gaza... well, he can meet a wall of motherfucking lead, and HIS mom can cry her eyes out for the rest of her pathetic scumfuck life, instead of the mothers of gaza, whose pain he pays for with his fucking taxes and then turns around yelling at people who are actually trying to DO something about it.
If that is what you think of other Americans, maybe you should leave this country.
