The two most important BREXIT analysts tonight have perhaps been Jose Canseco and Lindsay Lohan.

And Lohan will not shut up. She was squarely in the remain camp

Wow, this is big, and who cares what Lindsay has to say. Looks like the U.K. working class are tired of paying for Socialism.

What’s going through David Cameron’s head right now? He’s probably retreated to his safe place, where the chocolate imps run free and monsters can never hurt him. While the rest of the country is thinking about the future of the EU, our Prime Minister is thinking about the future of David Cameron. This is, in part, a referendum on him.

The euro slumped more than 3 percent against the dollar on concerns a Brexit vote will do wider economic and political damage to what will become a 27-member union. Investors poured into safe-haven assets including gold, and the yen surged. European shares were on course to open 6 to 7.5 percent lower.

The New York Times staff and readers alike are soiling their panties over this, blaming it on the entire gamut of globalist hobgoblins--racism, xenophobia, homopho........zzzzzzzzzz.

This vote is real basic: people are sick of being disenfranchised by corporate monstrosities like the EU, and they're sick of being impoverished by "free trade" and open borders nonsense, imposed on them against their will by corporate monsters who make a rich living wearing kneepads. Evidently concepts like sovereignty and real jobs are over the shrunken heads of the paper pushing class. They act like the EU is a divine right that's been around forever. It's been around less than 20 years, and it's a fucking disaster.

Well done, UK.

We voted for self-determination and how can that be wrong? All they could do was make threats about the costs to us but they're the money junkies and they keep us out of the economy anyway. They can't threaten to take away what they never allowed us to have.

"We voted for self-determination and how can that be wrong?"

Not a damn thing. It's right as rain. Congratulations, sir.

Ahhh, you hear that? That's technocrats around the world united in song, a dirge. There are many, though, who aren't just baying like beagles (apologies to those fine animals for the comparison) but are also plotting to extract a measure of revenge before they undo the vote. They all regard this as a mutiny by their chattels.

I read that this vote is just an advisory so the Great Britain government is not obligated to leave and can ignore the will of the people just like the US government does.

sinkchicken--yeah, that's right in the legal sense. Here's an article from The Guardian that appears to lay out the path ahead in some detail. The nub of it:

"Cameron had vowed during the campaign that if there was a Brexit vote, he would trigger article 50, the part of the Lisbon treaty that sets in train a two-year process whereby a member state can notify the EU council of its decision to leave.

Constitutionally, it is a decision for him alone, not parliament, since it is a matter of the royal prerogative. At the same time, nothing can stop parliament passing a motion that seeks to instruct him not to trigger article 50."

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jun/24/britain-has-voted-to-leave-the-eu-what-happens-next

The article embeds Cameron's speech this morning resigning as PM. He immediately says that the will of the people must be respected. (Cameron bet BIG that the vote would be remain, and lost.)

If even half of the article is correct, your point is exactly correct: there are LOTS of ways for the corporate meddlers to frustrate the vote over the next 2 years.

What happens to Obama's pet TTIP trade agreement now that the UK has bailed out of the EU? Will it go in the trash where it belongs or will they try to apply it to whats left of the EU?

Sage, I am watching the energy issue closely. The biggie here is how this might affect NAFTA and the carbon taxes in Canada. They are interconnected with the grid here in several locations. Canada is the country with the most lawsuits against them re: NAFTA. My thing with the UK is that they have unlimited re-hypothecation among other things and this could be a stalking horse type situation by the Banks in London. My eyesight and pessimism must be getting the better of me.../s.

So, the country that had the audacity to give us the Magna Carta has struck again. It must have hurt the Eurotrash immensely to watch these low life fish chip and beer swilling crowd take to the streets with their mallets and mash the Leave the Euro button repeatedly until they rang the bell. Just like at the carnival. And these poor bastards, the Eurotrash couldn't find their bicycles to ride home on and left the party weeping and gnashing their teeth in a fit of anxiety as they try to figure out how to put the genie back in the bottle. Effin hilarious. Can't find the bike, and this is what America thinks.

It’s obvious that the average Brit has been paying far more attention to the disastrous nature of Barack Obama than have the American people. Let’s see... they describe him as "an avatar of globalism," "dictatorial," "presumptuous," "patronizing," and "hypocritical;" and they describe his speech as "paradoxical," "inconsistent," "incoherent," "menacing," and "an insult to voters."

Well…that pretty much sums up the disastrous effects of 7-1/2 years of Obama’s elitist behavior and disastrous socialist policies in America. Thank you Great Britain for saying what the liberal sycophantic MSM here will not!

"Arguably, the biggest loser in the Brexit vote is Obama, who invested his personal prestige and global popularity in the referendum, and lost." However, after his world-wide apology tour, I was unaware that he had any prestige or popularity left to lose. I WAS WRONG!

Something that is being overlooked as another factor in the Brexit vote involves the structure of the EU itself. The “PIGS” as they are known -- Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain -- had an impact on the Brexit vote, too. Many British voters thought, “Why the bloody hell should the WE work harder, so the citizens of those countries can work less?”

Good point! Why should the productive nations in the EU have to continually “bail out” those members that refuse to face reality and reduce their social spending? Face it, this vote is as much a repudiation of laziness and gross irresponsibility as anything else.
