GRAPHIC VIDEO - NYPD Thugs Beat Wall Street Protesters In Baton Wielding Melee, Dozens Arrested

This clip runs 40 seconds and is very graphic.  This all happened last night.  Full story and more video inside.

Source - Alex Higgins

Thousands of union workers joined protesters marching through the Financial District Wednesday for Occupy Wall Street‘s largest rally yet against “corporate greed.”

The march was mostly peaceful – until after nightfall, when scuffles erupted and some of the younger demonstrators were arrested when they tried to storm barricades blocking them from Wall Street and the Stock Exchange.

Witnesses said about 200 people tried to push through barricades and police responded with pepper spray and penned them in with orange netting.

More of our tax dollars at work...

The theft from the taxpayer to bail out corporations that are "to big to fail" will continue as planned, and those corporations benefiting from fraud, theft, and political favor will continue unimpeded.

Both parties will work hard to see to it.

I support the police, if they didn't use force, who knows what these protesters will do. The gov't causes the problems, and the protesters take it out on the ones who are the victims of the gov't's folley. The people should be protesting against the gov't for redress.

Thugs? Thugs? Give me a break.

@Wayne Rickert

You obviously need a good thumping from a sadistic, constitution violating cop to get your brain working properly!
Oct 6, 2011 at 1:46 PM | Unregistered CommenterSagebrush
If you're looking for Thugs, turn the cameras around and show us the Union Thugs who are behind this senseless and pointless protest. If you poke the animals long enough, you get bit. When its a cop with a stick he's a constitution violator, when its a Union Jerk with brass nuckles they are law abiding citizens protected by federal law. What's wrong with this picture? Wake up Gomer, you're taking it in the shorts and are too stupid to know it.

What's with the anti-union trolls on this site lately? It seems pretty clear to me that this is not a union-lead protest - rather, they joined later because, hey, free publicity, right? I'm not in a job that's allowed to be unionzied, and neither my parents or any other relatives are in one, so I feel I'm pretty neutral on the topic. They do some good, some bad, and overall I'd rather have unions than not. But making up stories about "brass knuckles" isn't going to win any support to your side.

Open your mind and think a bit. Think about what the protestors are saying. Are you really going to pit yourself against them just because of your bias against unions?

Thugs? New York's finest are now thugs? These protestors need a reality check. Get a JOB!!! There are jobs for them. They just want to continue to be sponges on the taxpayers like myself, and milk the system. They should all be thrown in jail, and throw away the keys! They are anarchists, not patriots.

You think it is OK to colapse the government? I think it is called treason. They will not have student loans if our government fails.
This political ruse being born right before our very eyes in New York, Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco, Little Rock and other leftist bastions but never believe it isn’t a creature of the Bolshevik Wing of the Democratic Party. Curiously, under the tutelage of former administration communists like Van Jones, they will be calling for the re-election of Obama even while they are protesting the very Wall Street contributors that gave him so much campaign money to get elected with in the first place. Who does OWS think supported Obama? Wall Street, Banks, Soros, Big $ Hollywood. Those same hollywood folks who stopped by. Did they leave them a check?
The president’s undignified dialogue of envy worship and class division is embarrassing him before the nation but we need to understand that his political gambit originates in a community of Maoists and Che Guevara supporters and his goal is to stir their emotions into a frenzy of hatred and covetousness.
The Obamobedient media will try to pass this shiftless group of unwashed, street peeing leftists off as a liberal counterbalance to the tea party movement. This “flea party” movement is in no way an original new political movement of the people as the tea party is. Tea baggers are a lawful and patriotic group of middle class protesters whereas these flea baggers are merely out to break the law, get arrested, and attract attention to their unworkable political implausibilities. The
unions joining in just shows you how desperate they are.

” No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him. ” thomas jefferson
” I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious. ” thomas jefferson

Backgammon,

Consider coherent posts.

Beyond that, I don't hear anyone calling for a "colapse [sic] of the government" ... nor do you support this claim with... anything. Calling for reform is a time-honored PATRIOTIC activity.

I consider myself a member of the protesting community. I am not a *communist* or an Obama-supporter, but EVEN IF I WERE that would not lessen the importance of what we're seeing, which is a demand for change.
Oct 6, 2011 at 5:59 PM | Unregistered CommenterETM
The establishment sheeple are starting worry about the pasture fences and the shearing sheds. Change scares the hell out of them.

I think the protesters are going to help change some things in business and government that should have never been allowed to exist in the first place.

Backgammon,

Wall street supports the other side as well, you seem to have left that out.

I'm with sage, gomp and ETM. These protests are the best thing I've seen in my life. And I'm most definitely not an Obama supporter.

But I understand the bailouts (and Wall Street's fraud) as well as anyone out there and it's about time wall street suffered for the continued raping of america.

What do you protest critics think about corporate control over Washington?

Do you enjoy that GE, Goldman Sachs and Exxon haven't paid any taxes the past few years despite billions in profits?

Are you happy that Microsoft pays 7%?

Do you sleep well knowing that virtually every member of Congress is bought and paid for by special interests?

These and many other things are why these protests are important.

Thugs? New York's finest are now thugs?

Umm...did you even watch the pepper spray incidents on the corralled female protesers by Tony baloney? I would say 'thugs' is a polite term.

ETM. Obama promised change - Had enough yet? I wish I was making up stories about the unions but unfortunately I have the scars to prove I'm not lelling lies. Union leaders are protected from prosecution by federal law for inciting violence in the "legitimate persuit of union business". Have you seen the news lately? Paid professional Union agitators! The unions are paying people to keep the sheepeople riled up. The protester's seem to know what they are against but they don't know what they want. Not one positive suggestion or solution has come from any of the mindless children trying to get some attention.. Now they want to do away with capitalism. Why? Because we have had so much luck with Communism, Socialism, Marxism or Dictatorships??? Do your union research and you'll figure out why all of our jobs are going to China. Unions have outlived their usefulness. They have now become the biggest drain on the economy since the invention of the politician. People have become so used to "It's my money and I want it now" that they have forgotten where it comes from. Give up your liberty for a well-ordered life planned and directed by the all-knowing government. The easy way out will definitely come back to bite you in the ass.

DAILY BAIL: "These and many other things are why these protests are important." These protests are NOT important. They are counter-productive, destructive and are playing into the hands of those who are screwing us.
You're on the mark with GE and taxes but do you honestly think that the Protesters are going to change that? How naive do you think we are? I'm curious, just how much stock in the Daily Bail does George Soros own?
Oct 7, 2011 at 10:30 AM | Unregistered CommenterDavy
Davy...your comments are ludicrous and I don't have time to argue with you. You hear bits and pieces about the protests and think you understand them. I've read hundreds of stories, seen hundreds of videos, I understand that this is an eclectic group. End capitalism? What?...Because you've seen a few protesters say that, you assume that's what everything is about. You could not be more mistaken. Read the site. Go back pages and pages. I've posted the evidence.

At their core, these protests are about 3 things:

Ending the stealth bailouts of Wall Street...

Putting financial criminals in jail...

Ending corporate control over Washington...

Stop getting your ridiculous talking points from Kudlow.

"Ending the stealth bailouts of Wall Street...

And you actually want me think these protests will accomplish that? Guess Soros owns more of you than I thought.

Listen Davy. That's the last time I will tolerate a Soros comment. I have ripped that guy all over these pages for 3 years. You know nothing about this site and show up here acting like an asshole. This is a completely independent site. I haven't taken a single dollar in donations since I launched 3 years ago.

I fund this site with my blood, sweat and tears.

You're a cynical prick.

The protests are the beginning of an awakening. They are long past due.

You'd be amazed at what you could tolerate. You get the microphone and you have an opinion and anyone who disagrees is "an asshole" and "a cynical prick". You think your opinion is the only opinion. You think you're perfect - you have all the answers? Well, your command of the english language and ability to debate like an adult certainly support that. You have told me all I'll ever need to know about you. Get a life.

You made 2 completely rude comments about this site being owned by Soros. They were unprovoked on your part. Look in the mirror.

Getting back on track. I have a message for all those 'nice officers' beating the protesters. You pensions are about to disappear, courtesy of the bankers.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/primex-time-next-subprime-trade-has-come

[snip]

But you won't hear about it anywhere else, because if the market understands that in addition to a global solvency crisis, America has another Subprime contagion on its hands actually being expressed in the markets as we type, and potentially costing banks, pension funds and various asset managers billions in losses behind the scenes, that may well be the last straw.

The protests are the beginning of an awakening. They are long past due........@ DB......

What realy scares me is that there are many talking heads in the media that talk just like this. You can tell they have No Clue whats realy going on. They have many people, sheeple, that belive everything they sat too.......!

Last night on PJTV the 3 guys talked down the movement as just a bunch of Hippi Collage kids pissed becouse they got bad grades. These guys whom I look up to, have let me down for not knowing the truth behind OWS.........

eVERY BLOG I GO ON HAS 1/2 of them talking down the mvement. This is very sad and will only taint the message to the good people out there just finding out about it. Then they spread the mis-information.............

Its real sad becouse the truth is very eazy to find, instead of hearing the talking heads in the media............The coment "Pissed Me Off", and its way to early to mix a drink. If I was you thoe, I would of started with the first GS coment...........

Davy Boy, needs his mouth washed out with Soap......................Low Life Punks are worth 2cents, and thAre everywhere.....just kick over a rock, times there may be 2-3 under there..........

@Dar, already taken care of. (the soap thingy). I am keeping an eye on 2 big name cats that are notorious troublemakers. One was a smart ass who got arrested in DC about 2 weeks ago (his protest fizzled) and his followers now know he does this for money. Both are well connected to the white house (and banks) with one that is unquestionably connected to the intelligence apparatus (Hint: global warming is classified). This is too big and will not stop. Fox news up here in Boston keeps complaining about the group not having permits. Well, I would like to refresh their memory a bit about King George and a little kerfuffle that happened in Boston many years ago. This is here to stay, Remember Valley Forge!

Don't you just love all the "protests are bad", "and financial Armagedon is the unions fault" crowds mucking up sites all over the place these days Steve.

I am still trying to figure out the logic and a credible timeline behind how the unions forced banks lacking promissory notes to defraud courts with forged documents to illegally foreclose on homeowners.

How the unions forced judges to accept fraudulent paperwork and render judgement in favor of those passing off fraudulent "evidence".

How the unions forced banks to sell mortgage-backed securities that are not mortgage-backed.

How the unions forced banks to sell bundles of promissory notes as AAA-rated knowing they were not AAA quality.

How the unions forced investors to buy fraudulently rated "securities" with money that the average citizen is entrusting to them while the average Joe is attempting to squirrel away for retirement/ future, etc..

How the unions forced banks to sell the same promissory notes multiple times.

How the unions forced banks to engage in accounting fraud by marking junk assets at 90-95 cents on the dollar.

How the unions forced banks to engage in insurance fraud by buying credit default swaps from companies that have no money.

How the unions forced banks to engage in loan fraud, making loans that they know cannot be repaid.

How the unions forced banks to accept government bailouts and cover up their crimes.

How the unions forced the government to give those bailouts to corporations and refuse to investigate, indict, and prosecute any criminal conduct.

How the unions forced the government to to use money borrowed from the FED at interest to the taxpayer to bailout other nations private central banks in order to cover their fraud sheets and continue the drain of the IMF on those of us who actually do pay taxes.

How the unions forced the government since March 1962 to raise the debt ceiling 74 times, ten of those times since 2001. We are racking up one hell of a lot of interest on the taxpayer thanks to this.

How the unions forced the government of both parties to spend decades deregulating the financial industry thus setting the stage for the greatest crime ever gotten away with.

And last but not least, how the unions forced every voting American of both parties that has ever voted for any one of the Congressmen, Presidents, or Judges of both parties who have ever had a hand in/ or received campaign contributions from any corporation involved in any of the above mentioned "incidents".

I would love one pinhead pundit out there to complete an accurate timeline showing how all these abuses can be accurately pinned on unions instead of the readily apparent perpetrators who have so obviously been framed in the most elaborately developed scheme of the ages...

The corporations that steal our livelihood in the form of TARP QE1/2 etc turn and accuse the left of wanting to redistribute wealth? It seems to me that the largest redistribution of wealth in the history of the world just now occurred. The redistribution in either direction is unconstitutional. The system needs to be changed. Or, shall we continue the spread of debt peonage through the war driven extension of empire?
