In Ireland, Cancer Patients Lose Out To Bank Bondholders
Bank Bondholder Bitches Barack Obama and Taoiseach Brian Cowen share a laugh as they taunt cancer victims at a recent photo-op.

Still don't think the bank bailouts are evil, misguided and stupid? In Ireland, even cancer patients and amputees take a back seat to bank bondholders.
A County Wicklow woman faces weeks of delay for cancer treatment because of serious budget cuts at the Irish health service. Although her gum disease is unrelated to her cancer, her dentist says her condition should be taken care of before she gets treatment for her cancer. Otherwise, he says, she risks losing part of her jaw bone, leaving her with a painful and permanent disfigurement. But however much she needs the treatment, because of bailout-induced budget cuts, she waits and waits and waits while the health service decides whether to approve or deny her request.
Serving as a cautionary tale in the age of Obamacare and bank bailouts, Ireland's health service, the HSE, says that it is capping dental spending this year at 63 million Euro. Want a cavity filled? Ask your dentist to send in a request. He will likely wait up to 4 weeks for a reply and the answer is likely to be "No." Got cancer? Well, tough titty, sweet kitty -- the bank bondholders need their money and your government health service budget has been cut accordingly.
Make no mistake. The Irish situation puts the bank bailouts into their proper perspective. Money dropped down the bad debt/bank bondholder black hole isn't just a bunch of numbers rounding out an accounting entry -- it means billions upon billions of dollars that cannot be spent on things people desparately need.
Ironically, Ireland's own Tim Geithner, Finance Minister Brian Lenihan, suffers from pancreatic cancer. We wish him and his family all the best, but the bondholder bailouts he stupidly and cluelessly defends mean that ordinary Irish people -- like the woman from County Wicklow -- must wait weeks, months, or indefinitely for the kind of treatment that elites like Lenihan receive as a matter of course.

Shares of Morgan Stanley surged more than 9% in early trading as earnings solidly beat analysts' expectations.

Right on cue...one of the big TARP recipients reports solid earnings...meanwhile they are still insolvent...
As always, when men interfere in the great, invariant Law of Prices -- the winning bids of demand in the face of fixed supply sets the price -- the weak suffer.
Most likely, that woman championed for free-to-her medicine while sticking the bill to someone else. In the end, in life, persons don't get what they want often, but always, they get what they deserve.
At the present time if your not very rich and need serious medical attention you will be a pauper when you leave the hospital. The health care in this country, a nation that is supposedly the richest on Earth is disgraceful.
Thanks for the heads-up on what we can expect.
Smack,
"Most likely, that woman championed for free-to-her medicine while sticking the bill to someone else. In the end, in life, persons don't get what they want often, but always, they get what they deserve."
Let me be the first to call you a worthess shit-stain. Here's hoping you get what you deserve.
It's not only that you have to wait for treatment. USA is on cutting edge, because hospitals are buying new equipment, technology and we have access to new great drugs. Yes, pharma is profit motivated and that's the way it should be! . Actually whole world is benefiting from us paying full price for medications. When obama or other idiiot points on any system in teh world--their drugs are much cheaper, because we paid for R&D.
With socialized medicine in America, we will end up with two results: astronomical cost of health care and stunted growth of pharmaceutical industry and medical equipment makers. Why? Government will be regulating cost. So we will end up with overpriced health care that is mediocre or bad, just like in other countries which such system.
It's not that there will be death panels, that's just stupid talk. People will understand that when they have disease, they are going to die. You wonder why in Europe there is much larger movement of health food, organics, etc. Because people know they need to help themselves. You go die to hospital. Also screening and detection of diseases in US is on such a high level. That cost money. In socialized medicine, you will come when you are really sick and be ready for some bad news. I could go on...
just can't believe this is happening in America. Obama is killing all the things that make this country great.
dee dee has it right -- not only do we pay for the R and D, we also pay "full price" for all the goodies. Other governments demand lower prices. Ours ensures that we pay more than we ought to.
BTW, Smack, "that woman" had nothing whatsoever to do with the decisions made for her by the "shower of eejits" who run her government. The only people actually demanding a free lunch from their fellow citizens were the bankers and their bondholders.
God help us all if Obongo care happens like he wants. The truth is in America if you are sick you wll be taken care of.
Let me tell you.I had 2 adults 5 kids living with me for a almost a year .Both adults on disabilty (yea they could have worked)
No income other than ss and 1350.00$ they got for food. The thing is they had very very good medical and dental insurance
(source care).never had to pay anything for docs or scrips .I am self employed with a partner in a LLC my insurance only
his and his wife 1 kid is over 2500.00 month and it is not great insurance i had a operation still cost me over 1500.00
So this health care is not saving anyone it will just add expense due to the gov getting more involved. And yes i was
the ass that had to kick them out .But now the gov pays for everything. So the people who pay now will still be paying for others.

Both parties are captured by corporate lobbyists, the military industrial complex and Wall Street. Lobbyists spend $40 billion per year “convincing” politicians that their ideas should be implemented. Politicians DO NOT represent the people. They represent those who give them the most money. Radical earth shattering change is needed to save this country. Incremental steps won’t work. We need a leader wielding a sledgehammer.

SIGIR: Defense can't account for $8.7 billion
July 27, 2010 - 4:59am

The Defense Department is unable to account for $8.7 billion of the $9.1 billion in Development Fund for Iraq monies in received for reconstruction in Iraq. This according to a study published today by the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction.
"This situation occurred because most DoD organizations receiving DFI (Development Fund for Iraq) funds did not establish the required Department of the Treasury accounts and no DoD organization was designated as the executive agent for managing the use of DFI funds," the report states.
The Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR) finds that only one Defense organization actually set up the accounts required by the Treasury.
"The breakdown in controls left the funds vulnerable to inappropriate uses and undetected loss," SIGIR says.
The study recommends that the Secretary of Defense create new accounting and reporting procedures to avoid such mistakes in the future. It also recommends designating an executive agent to oversee progress, establishing measurable milestones, and determining whether any DoD organizations are still holding DFI funds.

Now you're drinking Kool-Aid. Obama is not a great man.
1) He gave tax payer money to foreign offshore banks via the banker bailouts. This was in the trillions of dollars!
2) He went back on his promise to bring the troops home the first day he was in office.
3) He gave the insurance companies a gift through Obama Care. The insurance industry lobbyists wrote the bill and then the Congress added the billions $$$ in unrelated pork.
4) He gave the Federal Reserve banking cartel more power via banking "reform." This bill is going to have a seriously adverse reaction to the local and community banks.
Obama has proven he is a friend of Wall Street and the Multi-National Corporations and an enemy of Main Street and the common man. Do your research.
The man is a dudd face it, he has tripled the debt in 18 months with nothing to show for it! He has the brain of a community orgainizer, bake sales and the like. He spent his time in chicago stealing money from the govt. to give old Rev. Wright for his racist church. He is a mistake.
And P.S. I think Bush was horrible too.
Escape the false left-right paradigm.

simple as that.
