The one main benefit to the financial reform effort so far is that it helps further do away with the false paradigms of "left" or "right" and "Democrat" or "Republican" - fewer and fewer people are falling for those lies anymore. Try to get an ideological conservative to explain why Republicans love spending and so eagerly give welfare to banks. Try to get your local liberal to explain why it was a good idea to make backroom deals with abhorrent corporations and drill, baby, drill. Heck, even try to get a Tea Partier to explain choosing bailout-lover Sarah Palin to keynote their convention, especially when that movement once had at least some pre-astroturf roots in protesting government giveaways.
What we have now is a group of politicians with shifting alliances on a case-by-case basis to the special interests who fund them. And currently, the most damaging one to our nation is the rise of the Bankster Party. Thankfully, we can now better identify its members.
Anyone who voted for the Kaufman-Brown SAFE amendment deserves to be considered a member of the "People's Party", at least for today. And while I may not agree, I am also OK with someone voting no on Kaufman-Brown if they voted no on the bailout in the first place. That at least shows a consistent ideology and we wouldn't need to break up the banks into smaller parts if our leaders had the will to let them fail.
But there is a special place for those who have the audacity to do something as incredibly un-American as voting to provide unencumbered welfare for rich bankers and then subsequently do absolutely nothing to fix the problem. And that special place (for now) is in what we should call from this point forward the "Bankster Party."

Jim Koch, the company's effusive founder and chairman could not be reached for comment -- the company said he is off on a boat excursion with his wife. The stock's sudden plunge had the appearance of virtually wiping out his $270 million in holdings in the company he started 25 years ago.
Jim Koch and family didn't sell his stock and I am sure the employees didn't sell their stock so how did the stock go down to 1 cent. This must go beyond a computer error or a fat finger or whatever they are saying now.

I can only imagine that his bosses are afflicted with trembling ribcage syndrome and are looking around for allies among the masses for protection against the coming deluge.

In "Friendly Feudalism: The Tibet Myth"[21] he observes, "western news media, travel books, novels, and Hollywood films have portrayed the Tibetan theocracy as a veritable Shangri-La" then goes on to detail what he feels were its negative aspects.

People who work and save were the real victims of the bailouts, as banks laughingly offer 1% CD rates because they feed off the government trough. The banks sit on foreclosures to manipulate house prices (called price fixing: illegal).
After we get rid of traitors like this UTAH scum, Nancy Palosi, Barbara Boxer, Gregg, Dodd and John "Bailout" Campbell, we must imprison them for their actions in the bailouts that defrauded our country and our working class citizens.

And of course, the accusations of racism always make clowns like Ratigan feel very smug. So they have to be tossed in. Everybody does it, so....
First of all, just because Bush did something (Shoebomber vs. underwear bomber Mirandize idiocy) does not mean we have to support Obama when he does the same stupid thing. Only a fool (Ratigan, I am thinking of you) does not learn from their experience. The shoe bomber should have been treated as an enemy combatant. But the shoebomber incident took place shortly after 9-11, and maybe not every contingency in domestic terrorism had been planned for. The country didn't have everything figured out. It was a mistake, ok ? Obama does not get a pass for repeating the mistake. He has had time to learn.
Obama has had the opportunity to learn from all of Bush's mistakes. But he and his liberal clown posse do not learn. They do the same stupid things as Bush and then wail, "Bush did it! Why didn't you complain then ?"
We did complain about some things, like the foolish spending and entitlements. Conservatives did not vote for Bush and other Republicans to watch them go to Washington and act like Democrats. That's why so many Republicans turned their backs on McCain, and why the vast majority of Independents went with Obama. The Republicans completely lost their way. They deserved to take a beating at the polls-- and they did.
And maybe there were some things we didn't complain about because we just didn't realize how badly they would turn out. We learn from our mistakes, unlike Ratigan and liberals.
But at least we conservatives-- and many Republicans-- learned. Ratigan is still replaying "Bush did it! Bush did it!" It is just so tiresome. And it is the perfect example of the shallow thinkers on both sides.
And stop screaming "racist! " at everybody who believes in limited government and that the law should be applied with "equal justice", not "social justice". The hypocrites are on the left on this issue. It is the conservatives who truly believe that the only way to judge a person is by the content of their character.
While I can't speak for Ratigan, I too tell every conservative about the criminal actions of Bush, John "Bailout" Campbell, Ben Bernanke and Henry "Inmate 112973" Paulson. Most people expect Democrats to steal from those that work and give to those that don't. But, republicans pretended to be free market capitalists who support limited government. Republicans pretended they were going to address the illegal immigration crises. All we got from the lying republican party was 1/2 trillion dollar bailouts where the money was literally given to multi-billionaires. The middle class was crushed under rising costs in health care, education and crime from republican supported illegal immigration.
It is because people like you who blindly follow a party label that our currency has been destroyed and our nation is now a third world joke.
I know the neocons must be rooted out of our system and a new party must be formed. A party that supports those who work and save. I also know there will be people like you who will fight common sense only to benefit from our hard won battles.
Putting Barbara Boxer in the "People's Party" is kind of like saying Hitler was a humanitarian.
And anyone who believes their "extra special" incumbent is not part of the problem is a fool indeed. Both parties together have been plotting the course to socialism for many years, and when those paths meet a little farther down the road, the profits for the masters will be sensational.
