MUST SEE: Obamacare Explained In One Sentence

Doctor Explains Obamacare In One Hilarious Sentence

This clip hit Youtube on Aug. 22, and already has 2.5 million views.  The woman speaking is a physician, Dr. Barbara Bellar, who is running for State Senate in Illinois.

Transcript:

"We’re going to be gifted with a healthcare plan that we’re forced to purchase and fined if we don’t, which purportedly covers at least 10 million more people without adding a single doctor but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that didn’t read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President who smokes — [laughter] — same sentence! — with funding administered by a Treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government that has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese — [laughter] — and finally, financed by a country that’s broke.

---

Complete speech:

Dr. Bellar's website...

I am a candidate running against the Chicago Machine for State Senate in the Illinois 18th District and I could use your help!  With the national attention I am receiving from this video you know that the Chicago Machine will be even more motivated to defeat me.

UPDATE Nov. 7 - Dr. Bellar was defeated yesterday in her run for State Senate.

1. Obamacare sucks.

2. Let's stay with private health care & when the cost continue to increase that's to damn bad because the govt. has no business
in free enterprise.
3. ?

The solution: don't buy, when they ask, tell them you're in the 10% who didn't get the word, or the other group of uninsured that aren't covered by the government, even though you're too poor.

In case you missed the debates, the difference in Romneycare & Obamacare is
1. State vs Federal
2, Romneycare bi partisian
3. Obama shoved Pelosi's bill through in the middle of the night, behind LOCKED doors with Democrats ONLY.

I don't have great sight, but I see the difference.

Then again, I see a great difference between Romney & Obama, as many on this site do not.

It would be better if they let her get it all out.

Christ, from the visual video, it sounded like a Feminist convention.

We here in the UK already have the system you're employing, it's called the NHS and it's shit, so, try to remember how you let Ron Paul get away because then you'll know why you ended up with that Socialist service.

Dar--

Tell yer doctor buddies to get new lawyers. Obamacare has been federal law for well over 2 years now.

Any opining that Romneycare is better than Obamacare has a wee bit of homework assignment beyond just fobbing off the opinions of talking heads. Specifically, why not start with the legislative materials themselves?

Here's the Obamacare Act, which runs several hundred single-spaced pages:

http://www.kaiserhealthnews.org/final-health-reform-bill-patient-protection-and-affordable-care-act.aspx

To put yourself on the same footing as the industry lawyers who'll be interpreting the act so as to extract every possible penny from your pockets, you'll also need the legislative history of the act, which is here:

https://www.wshein.com/media/brochures/347420.pdf

It's 10,000+ pages, but don't breathe easy just yet, as there's another 11,000 pages of ancillary reference materials. Oh, the legislative history will run you $1100.

Once you're done with that, you can compare your notes on Obamacare with the Romneycare act. It too run several hundred pages. But don't worry. They're divided into 30+ convenient chapters:

http://www.malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleIX/Chapter58

No one can possibly get through all this complexity, of course, which is precisely the point. Both Obamacare and Romneycare were drafted by industry lawyers hell bent on screwing you and everyone else into the gound. And they will succeed, whether you think so or not and whether you like it or not.

Taking partisan sides on the issue does nothing but confirm you as a total dupe.

(" Taking partisan sides on the issue does nothing but confirm you as a total dupe.")

Great point Cheyenne, excellent comment.

The two party system has been turned into a tool to keep a timid uninformed sheeple majority believing that the two parties are actually competing to provide the best leadership to benefit the american people.
The people who truly benefit from this false partisan Theater of the Absurd, are the ultra rich, the almost ultra rich, the corporate special interests, and of course the politicians who are the visible acting cast of the production.
The not almost ultra rich, middle class, and the poor are the befuddled target audience and victims of this wealth sucking political theater.

What about private healthcare in the UK? Wondering if a better system exists outside of the state.

Another thing that would help control costs immenesly is tort reform. Not becuase I think Docs shouldn't be sued when they screw up, quite the contray. But it is fear of lawsuits that cause Docs to order so many expensive tests. Someone comes in to the emergency room complaining of headaches, and they do an MRI, and a CT scan to make sure there's no tumour. Neither test would be ordered however if the Doc weren't afraid of getting sued later on.

I managed the retirement accounts for a large medical group for a few years when I was in my late 20s. I becamse very familiar with their billing and procedures. In their case, slighly more than 30% of total billing was for procedures that would NOT have been performed if not for fear of future lawsuits.

Defensive medicine isn't just a slogan.

It's a way of life for ALL doctors.

This happens all day, every day, all across the country. Some estimates say we would immediately save 20-25% on national costs if we put in sensible limits on malpractice lawsuits.

Something to think about. But it will never happen unless the GOP has control of Congress and the White House because trial lawyers own the DEMS, and they have blocked every attempt to enact malpractice reform.

For the second time in as many years, Democrat Bill Cunningham appears to have defeated Republican challenger Barbara Bellar for a legislative seat downstate.

For the 18th District Senate seat, Cunningham took in 55,121 votes, compared to Bellar's 31,741 votes, with 183 out of 192 precincts reporting, according to unofficial results. He currently is the 35th District State Representative.

Happy to see Square Space Services in my inbox. Still worried about DB.

Hey Cheyenne, have you lost your health insurance yet?

Hopefully, we have all learned that no matter which Party is in charge, they are NOT Competitent enough to run healthcare.

I'll give it until 2014......Train Wreck!
At least Time Magizine was honest enough to give Obama his due. Liar of the YEAR!

Hope all is well with you John....Stay Healthy, YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!
