Say what you will about the man, the Gipper could tell a joke.

I was young when Reagan was first elected and I didn't know him as an actor.  I was an older teenager when he was re-elected, and I was an intern for CNN Washington in the Summer of 1987, when his Alzheimer's began to seize control.  I mention it because '87 was the Summer of the Iran-Contra hearings and Lt. Colonel Oliver North.  We covered the hearings every day, all day for 2 months, and Reagan's fading memory played some part in that political theater.  Though he wasn't publicly diagnosed at the time, you can tell by his speech patterns that the disease had been destroying his mind since before he took office in 1980.

ABC took a look back at the wit and humor of the Gipper, our 39th President.

Ronald Reagan will be missed by many of us Americans! My father was a Democrat up to the time of President Reagan that's when he changed to Republican. My father got me involved also. I am so thankful He did, I started paying attention and voting in my 30's. We all owe so much to Mr. Reagan, who would of guessed that he would be one of our Greatest Presidents of all time. My hat's off to Mr. and Mrs. Reagan for guiding America to always do what was correct for our Great Nation One Nation Under God.

Haha he's a riot ! My favorite Reagan moments were when he honored the nazi officers at the German cemetery.
The second favorite was when he decided (after they suspected him of losing his memory or mind )that the only good commie he ever met was Gorbachev! LOL Then he signed everything over to him.Mr.Gorbachev,Take down this wall! LOL that was rich!
