the illustrated essay on Jefferson...check it out...it is very well done...
The man was a SLAVE-OWNER ! You keep pretending he was for all Human Rights! But he was NOT.
Why do you, people, keep blinders on?
Jefferson was only for Human and Civil Rights of White People. Is that the only thing that is valid to you?
Would you condemn a man for one fault, despite many, many virtues?
If so, who has blinders on?
Jefferson had many faults, and they are well documented in most of the accounts I have read. I have not seen anything that referred to him as a paragon of virtue.
Jefferson believed in the rights of the citizens of the United States.
Sadly slaves were not considered citizens at that point in time.
He foresaw the exact situation that the American people are in today courtesy of a corrupt government ruled by an elite minority. The wealth and property of the people are being transfered to to the elite by legislation enacted by that corrupt government.
