Watch As Another Fisker Karma Spontaneously Combusts, The $100K Electric Car Subsidized By U.S. Taxpayers That's Built In Finland
Update Aug. 20 - Fisker Recalls All Karma Hybrid EVs Over Fire Risk
Fisker Statement
The investigation located the ignition source to the left front of the Karma, forward of the
wheel, where the low temperature cooling fan is located. The final conclusion was that
this sealed component had an internal fault that caused it to fail, overheat and start a
slow burning fire.

Fisker Karma won a $529M super-low rate, green-energy loan in 2010, paid for by taxpayers. The vehicles carries an MSRP starting at $102,000.
The Karma above caught fire in a Woodside, CA parking lot while powered off. The owner found the vehicle emitting smoke after returning from a grocery run, prompting a call to Fisker and then the local fire department, which arrived as it was already engulfed in flames.

Fisker Karma starts fire in Texas home:
This happened in early May.
A fire badly damaged the home of a new Fisker Karma owner, and authorities are saying that the electric car was the source of the blaze.
According to Fort Bend County, Texas, chief fire investigator Robert Baker, the Fisker Karma started the fire that spread to the house.
"Yes, the Karma was the origin of the fire, but what exactly caused that we don't know at this time," he said. The car was a complete loss.
According to Baker, the driver arrived home in the Fisker, pulled into the garage, and less than three minutes later the car was in flames. It reportedly was not plugged in at the time of the fire and the Karma's battery remains intact.
Right before the fire, the owner reported a smell of burning rubber. "The car was brand-new," said Baker. "He still had paper tags on it, so it was 60 days old at most."

Flashback
"WASHINGTON -- A tiny car company backed by former Vice President Al Gore has just gotten a $529 million U.S. government loan to help build a hybrid sports car in Finland that will sell for about $89,000.
The award this week to California startup Fisker Automotive Inc. follows a $465 million government loan to Tesla Motors Inc., purveyors of a $109,000 British-built electric Roadster. Tesla is a California startup focusing on all-electric vehicles, with a number of celebrity endorsements that is backed by investors that have contributed to Democratic campaigns.
The awards to Fisker and Tesla have prompted concern from companies that have had their bids for loans rejected, and criticism from groups that question why vehicles aimed at the wealthiest customers are getting loans subsidized by taxpayers."

New Fisker Fire, While Taxpayers Cover Utility Bills for Empty Plant

Seems to be this problem is either a design error or a manufacturing error, thus the failure is on their shoulders not ours.
Wake-up people. If we as an individual screwed up, we cannot go to the population at large and expect them to pay for our
short comings.

For months, it insists that it's only sold 1000 units globally. Then, company co-founder Henrick Fisker said just last week that roughly 1900 units had been BUILT.

Today we find out that the fire in Woodside, CA, which was supposedly caused by--get this--the car's combustible cooling fan, has forced the company to recall "about 2400 Karma sports sedans."

Undoubtedly Obama's handlers--in order to deflect attention away from the latest green energy project to blow up in the President's face, this time literally--will point to the new safety record set by Fisker Karma's recalli of well over 100% of all cars it's ever made.
You just knew this company was gonna be a mangy dog based solely on its name, which ranks up there with the creepy mail man, Mr. McFeely, who prowled around Mr. Rogers' neighborhood.

Earlier this month, a Tesla Model S sitting in a Toronto garage ignited and caught on fire. The car was about four months old and was not plugged in to an electric socket, says a source.
Fires are a touchy issue for the company, which reports Q4 2013 earnings on February 19th.
Last year, three vehicles caught fire over the course of six weeks. The company has previously pointed out in a government filing that the lithium ion battery cells “have been observed to catch fire or vent smoke and flame.” So the fires have raised concerns with consumers and caused a flurry in the media — so much so that CEO Elon Musk has addressed the coverage of these fires himself.
But still now it is consider as dead in market due to the lack of charging center. To day we can found several charging center in specific area.
